How we support you in successfully completing your studies.
Personal study guidance and help to find the right support
Dedicated contact persons support you throughout your entire degree. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your dean of studies, your program coordinators or the International Office. Check out our Incoming Compass to find the right help:

Workshops and crash courses
In online and on-campus workshops, you can develop and enhance study skills such as learning techniques, time and stress management, or the effective use of AI in your studies. In preparatory and crash courses, you can refresh your knowledge in areas such as maths and statistics, academic writing, and empirical data collection and analysis.
Please note: Some of these courses are only offered in German.
Individual consultations
Our advisors are happy to support you with all study-related challenges. This may include subject-specific and methodological topics such as academic writing, data analysis, or learning strategies, as well as organisational and personal matters such as study planning and funding or health-related concerns.
Please note: Some of these offers are presented in German on our website. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the counselors nonetheless and ask them for a consultation in English.
On-demand content
With detailed video tutorials, guides, and curated information materials and checklists, you can work on your academic success anytime and from anywhere. Get support in organising your studies or learn how to use AI as a study booster or helpful tools such as Unipark and SPSS.
Please note: The content is mostly offered in German.
All Study Success offerings are free of charge for enrolled students!
By the way: Workshops and crash courses usually take place shortly before or during the lecture period of the on-campus programs and are offered every semester. Individual consultations and on-demand services are available to you at any time.
THE BUDDY PROGRAM
The Buddy Program aims to support international students as they transition to a new phase of life in a foreign country with a different language and culture. The initial weeks and first semester are often filled with many new impressions and can be a source of doubt and worry.
This is why our International Office has set up the Buddy Program for our international students. Current students at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences become mentors to help “newbies” with questions about their studies and general life in Germany. The program is voluntary for all participants. It helps to overcome cultural and language barriers and ensures that new students feel welcome.
International students can get in touch with their “buddy” even before they arrive in Germany. Fresenius University of Applied Sciences organizes various events that they can attend together. Even though the program is officially limited to one semester, we have seen many friendships develop from the Buddy Program.

Tutoring
Have you lost track of a lecture’s content or would you like to have a topic explained again at your own pace? Then private tutoring by experienced fellow students could be just the right thing for you! That’s why we want to help you find suitable tutors within the Fresenius community.
Email us at studysuccess@studyplus.de, tell us where and what you are studying, and which subject you are looking for tutoring in! We will then check our tutor directory to see who might be a good match for you. Based on the profiles we send you, you can decide which tutors you would like to contact privately. Everything else (appointments, location, payment, etc.) can then be arranged directly between you.
Are you really good at a subject that others often find difficult, and can you explain things clearly and empathetically? Then get yourself listed in our tutoring directory and help other students prepare for their exams! Simply send an email to studysuccess@studyplus.de and briefly explain why you would make an excellent tutor. We will then provide you with all further information, including a profile template for you to complete so that students looking for tutoring can get to know you!
