WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM OUR TALENTS?
Our talents are not only encouraged, but also strongly challenged. The talent network ensures a lively exchange and we expect the following from our talents:
- Attendance at network events
- Contributing/implementing your own ideas for the semester programme
- Respectful interaction with all members

Your way into the talent network
- Would you like to develop your strengths, network with committed fellow students and become part of an exceptional network? Then apply now – and show us what you’re made of!
Send us your CV, a letter of motivation (max. one page) and your current transcript of records (simply download from the student portal).
Show us what drives you – professionally, personally and as part of a team.
Tip: In your letter of motivation, feel free to mention our talent traits – the qualities that are particularly important to you and would make you stand out in the network.
If your application is convincing, we will invite you to our selection day. There we would like to get to know you personally: Who are you? What makes you stand out? What ideas do you bring to the table? In a relaxed atmosphere, you will meet other applicants, current talents, our talent professors and the network team. You’ll get an authentic insight into the network – and we’ll find out who you really are.

What is important for your application?
- Talent is diverse – we promote academic commitment, professional orientation and social responsibility. Show us in your application which of these areas particularly distinguish you and what makes you stand out as a person.
Get actively involved in university life – for example in projects, tutorials, student councils, committees or by supporting other students with the AStA. This is where your contribution to the community, your involvement on campus and your commitment to a lively academic community count.
Show us how you are pursuing your professional goals – whether through internships, working student jobs, your own projects or clear career plans. The focus is on how you take your professional development into your own hands and actively drive it forward.
Show that your commitment goes beyond the university – for example in clubs, competitive sports, social initiatives, voluntary work or cultural projects. This is about taking responsibility in society and making a positive impact beyond your studies.
Note: If your application does not work out on the first attempt, you are welcome to apply for the Talent Network again in the coming semester.
Frequently asked questions
At the selection day, we want to get to know you and what makes you special. The best way to prepare for the selection day is to think about what you want to experience with the LFTN and what you can bring to the table.
Yes – your membership of the LFTN is free of charge. As a rule, all events such as workshops, excursions etc. are also free of charge for you.
All events are just as diverse as the members. We always try to combine a colorful mix of networking, personal and professional development, so that the semester program is exciting for everyone.
If you are unable to attend an event, this is not a problem – the important thing is that you remain committed overall and attend regularly in the long term. Participation in the events is recorded because it is an important prerequisite for remaining active in the network and benefiting from the offers.
Yes, you can remain active in the network even during a semester abroad or internship – the important thing is that you still show commitment and stay in touch. Presence, whether digital or on-site, plays a central role in your active membership.
