MAster’s weeks
Master’s Weeks are a short program specially tailored to the needs of our Master’s students. Selected modules are taught in New York. The program is complemented by cultural activities. In this way, Master’s students (and alumni) have the opportunity to deepen their specialist knowledge, gain valuable international experience, network and discover different metropolises within a very short period of time!

- Currently pursuing or recently completed master’s degree
- English proficiency at B2 level (proof via university internal English test or official language certificate)

The module Leadership and Management examines the topics of leadership concepts and methods in the field of tension between the paradigms of strategic management, systematic leadership theory and new leadership methods. Where are the traditions of strategic management still visible today? What is the significance of systematic leadership theory for the leadership and motivation of employees? How effective are new leadership methods? And how can leadership concepts and strategies be developed and evaluated in a constantly changing, complex environment? These are precisely the questions addressed by the one-week NYC Master Week – Leadership and Management.

The module Behavioral Decision Making examines the topics of thinking processes that underlie judgment and decision-making, and the pros and cons of both rational (analytical) and intuitive decision-making (system 1 and system 2). The module also tackles the most common errors in managerial decision making (both at the individual and group levels) and why these biases happen.
In this one-week program participants will learn how to effectively negotiate and acquire practical skills for improving judgments and making effective decisions. They will understand how to overcome decision-making biases in order to improve the quality of individual and group decision-making procedures, and the design of appropriate choice architectures.
