International experience is a key factor for success in your future career. Studies show that employers particularly value international and intercultural skills in graduates. Studying abroad not only fosters professional development but also enhances personal skills such as independence, openness, and flexibility, and specifically prepares you for a global work environment.
The CIC documents precisely these international experiences you have gained during your studies. These include, for example, semesters abroad, language courses, international internships, or other international engagement in a university context. The certificate enhances your resume with a compelling international skills profile and makes your experiences visible to future employers.
When and how do I receive the CIC?
The CIC is based on a flexible system of compulsory and elective components. To earn the certificate, you must earn a total of at least nine points from at least three different components. Participation in at least one compulsory component is mandatory. All eligible activities must have been completed during your studies.
Once you have met the requirements, simply submit your supporting documents to the International Office using the online form. After your application has been approved, you will be issued a digital Certificate of International Competence.
